We purchased Ely from Kim Moses of Hunters Marsh as a pup. His Pedigree is full of great dogs. His 4 generation Pedigree has six Field Trial Champions, four Master Hunters and two HRCH. Of course, as with all Hunters Marsh dogs, as solid a bitch line as you'll find anywhere.
In the 10 years I have had Ely he has accomplished every goal we set for him back when he was just a puppy. Ely earned his HRC upland title with four straight passes. He earned his Grand Hunting Retriever Champion Title at the age of three. He is a member of the HRC 1000 point club. He passed three straight Master Nationals to become a MNH and earn his way into the Master National Hall Of Fame. He won the first Qual I ran him in to become QAA. Ely did not accomplish all of this by running every weekend, he did it by passing all most every test or winning every trial we entered him in. This does not happen by accident and VERY FEW dogs can compare to Ely when it comes to proving their talent.
#4 on the UKC Current Top Producing sire list -56 Straight Finished Passes -30 Straight Master Passes
Ely is the type of Dog every breeder hopes to one day have in his Gene Pool. He is a team player who is always giving his best effort. He is as talented and intelligent as they come. We're expecting great things from Ely progeny into the future.
Ely was also my personal hunting dog. He hunted extensively in the U.S. and Canada. As good as he was at the hunt test game he was even better in the field. He picked up an average 500 game birds per season. He could hunt alongside my layout blind covered in corn stubble or from his dog blind 20 yards behind me. He was OK hiding in a fence row, in the duck boat or on his marsh stand. Upland hunting was his favorite job. He was a natural pointer and would work as long and as hard as you ask him to.
